Yoga in the Park
 

Yoga in the Park | June 10 || 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. 

The Avon Recreation Center offers free yoga on Saturdays throughout the summer with certified yoga instructors from around the Vail Valley. Start your weekend on the right foot…then the left…by stretching and energizing your whole body on the picturesque Performance Pavilion Terrace overlooking Nottingham Lake.


Open Water

Open Water Swim | June 15 || 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Nottingham Lake is back and better than ever this summer! The Avon Recreation Department provides the only open water swim in the valley. It's a perfect way to train for your first (or third) outdoor triathlon. Just be sure to bring a wetsuit - the water can be chilly! 
  • Fee:$5 per person 
  • Check-in at the Avon Performance Pavilion
  • Average water temp. is between 60 - 68 degrees, wet suits recommended 
  • Must be 15 years of age with parental release 
  • For your safety - lifeguard staff and distance buoys will be provided

Missoula Children's Theatre | June 16 & 17
Missoula Children's Theatre is coming to Avon! MCT fosters creativity and enhances innate capabilities in individuals all over the world by providing access to community-driven performing arts experiences. MCT strives to transcend any barriers such as language, culture, financial resources, and unique needs to transform lives by actively engaging people in the arts. A cast of 60 local students will perform The Tortoise Versus the Hare on the Avon Performance Pavilion stage.

Daddy's Girl Tu-Tu 2K | June 18 || 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. 

Make Father’s Day special by enjoying some exercise in Nottingham Park and bring the whole family for this 2k race. Moms are welcome too, as are boys and girls. This mission of the race is Family, Fun & Fitness. TuTu’s aren’t mandatory, but they’re strongly encouraged, as are superhero costumes, capes or other costume couture. With a 9:00 am start, you’ll have the whole day left to spend enjoying the features and amenities of beautiful Nottingham Park.

Lax Tournament

Vail Lacrosse Tournament | June 19 through June 21

Known as the highest altitude tournament in the country, the Vail Lacrosse Tournament is a family-friendly competition drawing nearly 2,000 players, and 3,000 spectators to the Vail Valley! 

The Vail Lacrosse Tournament laid down its roots in Vail  in 1995, just as the Lacrosse was picking up name recognition and momentum nationally. One of the few high-altitude tournaments of it's kind; the event draws participants from around the country to compete while taking in the gorgeous Vail landscape and all of the activities the area has to offer.

Dunk N' Dash | June 19 || 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

The Town of Avon is proud to present our 13th Annual Dunk-N-Dash Aquathlon Series. Athletes can register for one event or for the entire series. Swimmers in the Dunk-N-Dash can opt to make one or two 800-yard loops around the Nottingham Lake. The 5K run starts and finishes at the Lake’s Avon Performance Pavilion. The route runs north around Nottingham Lake, follows the path to Avon Elementary and turns onto the scenic river recreation path. At “Bob the Bridge," runners turn around and return on the same path detouring to the south side of the lake for the finish line. SAVE money by preregistering at the Avon Recreation Center or sign up day of to participate.

Haute

Haute Route Rockies | June 26 - 28


Carving through the heartland of American cycling, the Mavic Haute Route Rockies 2017 will feature an unforgettable combination of jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking climbs. The first ever week of Haute Route racing in North America event offers seven timed and ranked stages. Avon will host stage 4, an 11-mile Individual Time Trial from Avon to Wildridge that includes 2,000 feet of elevation gain.

June 27 | Individual Time Trial & Park Celebration
June 28 | Departure for Stage 5
