Avon Recreation Center Opens Ice Skating Rinks

Ice Skating in Avon

Avon, CO – Beginning Friday, December 16th, the Avon Recreation Center will add ice skating to its list of amenities for visitors and locals. The Town has built two temporary outdoor ice skating rinks to serve the public this winter, with one rink adjacent to the Rec Center on Lake Street to be used for recreational ice skating only. The second rink, near the Avon Performance Pavilion, is available on a first come, first serve basis to be utilized for pickup hockey games and private functions upon request.

“This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors together at a central location here in Avon,” said Jamie Taylor, Guest Services Coordinator. “When you’re done skating, you can come into the Rec Center and warm up in the hot tub,” he added.

The ice rinks will be open daily through mid-March from noon to 9 p.m., ice-conditions dependent. Rentals are available at the Rec Center for an $8 fee, and all skate sizes, child through adult, are available. If you bring your own skates, there is no cost to use the rinks.
