Avon, CO – The Avon Town Council held a regular meeting on January 23rd. Highlights of the meeting include the following:
- Council approved Resolution 18-05, thereby approving the Minor PUD Amendment for Lots 2A, 2B, 3, and 5, Buck Creek PUD. The Walking Mountains Science Center programs and facility have grown over the past eight years, and the building needs have changed since the original PUD process. The Amendment modifies the zoning to allow for a variety of uses from residential housing units, school, employee housing units, pedestrian paths and trails, public assembly facilities, museums to public educational facilities on Lot 2A and Lot 3. There are no changes to the zoning on Lot 5.
- Council approved the program and funding for the 40th Anniversary Celebration, with $15,372 in funding appropriated from the 2018 General Fund Contingency. Avon was incorporated on February 24, 1978, and will celebrate the anniversary of the incorporation on February 24, 2018 with cake and a toast by Mayor Jennie Fancher following the February Freezer 5K and Polar Plunge, scheduled for that day.
