Town of Avon Reminds Citizens to keep dogs on a leash

Avon, CO—The Avon Police Department would like to remind residents that Avon’s leash law requires dogs to be on a leash except when in the Town’s designated dog park, located in Wildridge behind O’Neil Spur Park, or on the owner’s property.

Town ordinance requires that all dogs must be on a leash when on public property, in all parks, including Harry A. Nottingham Park, and on school grounds. Dogs must also be leashed while on open space land and when in common areas of multi-family housing complexes.

Also, dogs are not allowed to swim in Nottingham Lake.

The Avon Police Department should be contacted if you see a dog off leash. For more information, contact the Avon Police Department at 970-748-4040.
