Nominations for Avon Town Council announced

Avon, CO—The nominees for Avon Town Council are Jennie Fancher, Matthew Gennett, John Minervini, Albert (Buz) Reynolds, and Jake Wolf. The deadline to submit a nomination was August 27; however, the Avon Municipal Code also allows for write-in candidates until five days before the election.

Avon’s Town Council election will be held this November 6, 2012 with three seats open. Mayor Pro Tem Kristi Ferraro and Councilor Amy Phillips complete serving their second terms and are term limited. Councilor Buz Reynolds is up for re-election after serving his first, four-year term. The Mayor will be elected by the Council members on the first Town Council meeting after the election.

The election will be coordinated with Eagle County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Avon’s Town Hall, located at One Lake Street adjacent to Nottingham Park, will serve as the polling location. The polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. The last day to register to vote in this election is October 9,2012.
