SKYLIGHT CREATIVE WRITERS RETREAT RESET TO SPRING 2017
The first time event looks to bring inspiration and a hands-on learning experience to the community
Avon, CO – Donahue Entertainment/Imagine One Events, with the support of the Town of Avon, has announced that the first year event is being re-scheduled for next spring at the Avon Performance Pavilion & Nottingham Park. Originally planned for Labor Day Weekend, Donahue Entertainment believes additional time will be a benefit to greater outreach to the reading and writing community in and out of the Vail Valley.
Donahue Entertainment has worked closely with Nicole Magistro, of The Bookworm of Edwards, to develop an inspirational and hands-on retreat, with a renowned group of best-selling authors, Grammy award-winning songwriters, expert social media bloggers and major motion picture and Broadway writers for an enriching series of workshops, talks and roundtables. “I feel the partnerships with Nicole and the Town of Avon have been most valuable in thinking about how to launch this unique event and how to ensure an inaugural success,” said Don Donahue. “By agreeing to this date change, it speaks volumes that we all are committed to an exceptional experience for attendees that is well-attended.”
Donahue Entertainment has secured for the spring session Alexandra Fuller, the New York Times best-selling author of Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight and her current best-seller, Leaving Before the Rains Come, as a keynote speaker at the retreat. Grammy and Tony award-winning brothers Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick, who recently produced Broadway’s Something Rotten! and have written Grammy award-winning songs with Eric Clapton and major motion picture screenplays such as Chicken Run and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, will also be featured guests. The new retreat date will be announced by not later than September 15, 2016.
