In 2015 the world will be coming to the valley to witness one of ski racings great annual events—the World Alpine Ski Championship.

Racers from 70 countries will be training and racing in Beaver Creek with nearby Vail hosting opening ceremonies and ancillary events.

Avon will be in the heart of the action with teams and press corps members staying in town, and a screen stadium in the town core will be set up for spectators to watch the races when not on the slopes.
