The Community Relations Office interfaces with the public and news media and provides communications support to town departments.

Responsibilities

• Writes and issues press releases and prepares information materials for public distribution
• Develops and manages content for the Town of Avon website
• Coordinates with local Public Access5 television channel which covers Town Council meetings
• Prepares promotional campaigns, reports to citizens, writes and distributes town publications in cooperation with town departments
• Develops and monitors Avon’s communications plan and policies as envisioned by the Town Council
• Serves as lead communications representative for Avon Police Department
• Leverages the Town’s communications and marketing initiatives through relationships with other organizations such as Beaver Creek, Vail Valley Partnership and the Avon Business Association
