Town of Avon Historic Preservation Committee
To Meet on Options to Relocate the
Hahnewald Barn to Harry A. Nottingham Park
Avon, CO – The Avon Historic Preservation Committee will be meeting on February 20, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., to review options for potentially relocating the Hahnewald Barn to Harry A. Nottingham Park. The meeting will be in Town Council Chambers, One Lake Street, and is open to the public.
The Avon Town Council, at its meeting on November 14, 2017, reviewed a schematic plan and probable costs to relocate the Hahnewald Barn to Harry A. Nottingham Park. The proposed location is where the existing Avon municipal building sits.
The Council directed that Town staff work with the Town’s consultants and the Historic Preservation Committee to prepare an option, which would reduce the cost of relocation and renovation, and to explore a list of acceptable changes to the barn structure. This work will be the focus of the Committee’s meeting on February 20th. Tomecek Studio Architecture, consultant to the Town will be facilitating the session.
The preferred option for relocation to the park, estimated probable costs, and the estimated cost to store the barn will be presented to Town Council at its March 13, 2018 meeting. Council meeting agendas and meeting materials may be found at www.avon.org.
