Local dogs and handlers can compete in the Incredible Mountain Dog Challenge obstacle course

Avon, CO – Do you and your dog have what it takes to compete in an obstacle course for a spot on national television?

This summer, Avon will host the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge (PPPIDC) at Harry A. Nottingham Park, from Thursday, June 20th through Saturday, June 22nd. This nationally televised event showcases some of the best dogs in the country competing in a variety of canine sports. Come out and watch dogs of all breeds compete in events like the Incredible Mountain Dog Competition, Agility, Diving Dog, Flying Disc, Fetch It, Jack Russell Hurdle Racing and more! Bleacher seating and free admission is available for spectators, and well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome!

As part of the Avon PPPIDC, event producers have created a new event called the Incredible Mountain Dog Competition (MDC). It is an obstacle course during which both dog and handler must complete each obstacle together, including crawling under a net, climbing up and over hay bales and even riding a stand-up paddle board together. A qualifier for the Incredible Mountain Dog Challenge will be held on Thursday, June 20, where participants can practice and compete to become one of four female and four male finalists that will compete head to head on Friday, June 21st at 10:30 a.m. Entries are limited to ten male and ten female handlers and their dogs. If you are interested in participating with your dog, act now and sign-up online at Event producers will let applicants know by May 15th if they are selected to compete. The finals of the MDC will be shown in our National Network TV broadcast coverage of the Avon PPPIDC event.

Potential competitors should be experienced stand up paddleboarders.
