Weekly Art Expo Returns to Avon’s Possibilities Plaza on Wednesdays!
CCM Events is excited to once again host the Possibilities in Avon: Weekly Art Expo every Wednesday this summer beginning June 23rd. This weekly art show runs on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., June 23rd through September 1st. Held on Avon's Main Street Mall the art show will exhibit up to 30 artist booths. We invite you to stroll through Avon and discover great artists with amazing works.
The kickoff event on Wednesday June 23rd, features the work of Lauri Dunn. Lauri transforms photographs of insects into modern, meditative collages and sculptures. The reconstructed photographs emphasize the insect’s original attributes such as pattern, color and symmetry. The final pieces are often so abstracted that one is left to imagine another object entirely. Please join us to experience this amazing artist’s work. In addition, the Weekly Art Expo will feature a different solo or duo musical group each week. Our first musical guest will be internationally acclaimed Peruvian classical guitarist Manuel Molina. At the age of 17, he was the youngest person to conduct the Peruvian National Symphony. Manuel has appeared multiple times at the Aspen Jazz Festival,
Cherry Creek Arts Festival as well as international appearances in Naples, Asia, Europe, Africa, Central and South America.
As a special addition, Manuel will be joined by jazz vocalist Julie Monley. Julie lived and worked many years in London and then Paris where she received the Best Vocalist Prize at the 1997 Jazz Festival de Vienne. Julie has taught private voice and jazz vocal stylings the world over including L’Ecole du Cim in Paris.
The Weekly Art Expo leads up to AvonLIVE! on featuring Los Texmaniacs.
