Avon Road Multimodal Safety and Operational Assessment Seeking Feedback

Avon Road Assessment

Avon Road Multimodal Safety and Operational Assessment

Seeking Feedback

The Town of Avon is conducting a multimodal safety and operational assessment of Avon Road.   Avon Road is a roadway through the center of town with a series of five roundabouts.  From feedback and accident reports, Avon Road has some speeding concerns and is regarded as not pedestrian friendly. Efforts have been made to improve pedestrian safety with the addition of  pedestrian crossing flags in 2020. In the summer of 2022, temporary restrictive delineators were added at the accident-prone Avon Road and Hurd Ln intersection to assess the effectiveness and operational impacts of adding a permanent restrictive median.

To learn more about the assessment and provide comments, please visit us at www.avon.org/avonrd. If you have any questions, please contact Public Works Director Eva Wilson at ewilson@avon.org or call 970-390-2014.
