Metcalf Road Culvert Repair Project

The Town of Avon will begin repairing an 84” diameter corrugated metal pipe under Metcalf Road near the north driveway of Metcalf Lofts Condominiums on Monday, February 20, 2023. Buried nearly 30 feet deep, the culvert conveys stormwater from Metcalf Gulch. Using tunnel technology, a 22’ long section will be repaired with steel liner plates.  The entire 160’ long culvert will be coated with shotcrete, a high-strength concrete product for durability. Motorists may encounter minor delays during the repair.   The project will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.

If you have any questions, please contact Project Engineer, Tim Thompson at tthompson@avon.org or call 970-748-4078.
