Local Bike Shops Offer Great E-Bike Deals Just in Time for Bike Season

The Town of Avon is processing several e-bike rebates each week, providing up to $800 in rebates per household for full-time Avon residents. Avon residents who purchase an e-bike in Eagle County with a minimum purchase price of $1,000 are eligible for a $400 rebate when they complete an online application and provide proof of residency. Bikes purchased online or outside of Eagle County and used e-bikes with a minimum purchase price of $400 are now eligible for a $200 rebate. Two rebates are available per household.

Avon’s local bike shops have a variety of e-bikes to meet the needs of all types of bikers, including step thru, gravel bikes, hybrids and commuter-style bikes starting at just $1,000.

One of High Gear Cyclery’s popular models is the Rocky Mountain Power Play which is an electric mountain bike with several different models that can get you to the grocery stores or up to the trails in Wildridge. Transition Sports has three models of new Hi Boy e-bikes that range in price from $950 to $1,179 before tax. These Hi Boy models include both step thru and fat tire models and are very popular among locals. Venture Sports has several popular models, including the Roam E+ STA and Talon E+3 which start at $2,750.

Finally, Wildsyde Electric Bicycles will be matching the Town of Avon’s $400 E-bike rebate during the month of June. This offer cannot be combined with any other discount. Wildsyde will be giving the initial $400 discount off any model at the time of purchase and the customer is responsible for filing a rebate with the Town of Avon.

Avon issues rebates to full-time residents who purchase e-bikes to run errands, commute to work, and reduce carbon emissions. There is a limit of one rebate per person and two rebates per household when the e-bike is used to offset vehicle mileage.

The e-bike rebate application can be completed through the Town of Avon website and applications must be submitted within 180 days of purchase and include detailed invoices and receipts. Rebate checks will be distributed within 4-6 weeks of receiving the completed rebate application. Rebates are for Avon residents only and proof of residency is required. Funding is limited. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
