Man of the Cliff Returns to Avon for a Single-Day Event October 14

Announces Can Do Multiple Sclerosis as Benefactor for 13th Annual Event

Calling all lumberjacks and lumberjills! The 13th annual Man of the Cliff is returning to Avon, Colorado, for a single-day event on October 14, 2023. This mountain-town event is your chance to trade in your business attire for flannel and try your hand at axe throwing, keg tossing, speed chopping, and more! Proceeds from the event benefit Eagle Valley-based Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a nonprofit organization that helps people and families living with MS thrive.

New for 2023 - stop by the pre-registration party with live music and to pick up your credentials for the event at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa on October 13, 2023 at 6pm.

Whether you’re a pro, first-timer, or just want an excuse to break out your flannel and drink beer with your friends, the event offers something for everyone.

All events are modified to allow men and women – ages 18 and over – of all sizes and abilities to compete. Participants can pre-register online for $88 (or $100 day of) for the 2023 Man or Woman of the Cliff competition. There will also be pop-up events throughout the day for spectators to test the lumberjack waters.

There is no cost to come and watch, but a $10 donation to Can Do MS is encouraged.

Man of the Cliff is presented by Peculier Ales and sponsors include the Town of Avon, The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Optimum Events, and Wood & Steel Axe Company.

About Man of the Cliff

Fourteen years ago, Amanda and Adam Williams organized their very own lumberjack games event in the small town of Red Cliff, Colorado, with the idea of raising money for a nonprofit organization while testing who had the best axe throwing, keg tossing, and archery skill. Having outgrown its footprint in this small mountain town, the event was moved to Avon’s Nottingham Park and has grown to become one of the Vail Valley’s favorite annual festivals.
